With the opportunity to work from nine countries across four continents during these past five years, I have been honored to partner with forward-thinking cultural organizations and businesses, family offices, individual philanthropists, collectors, artists, and foundations across the globe. You inspire me every day.
I started this practice after 15 years as an institutional fundraiser in the cultural sector. I was witnessing increasingly divergent trends in affinity and giving among the traditional donor class and next era philanthropists. Put simply, next generation audiences are turning away from the arts. Since we are currently experiencing the largest intergenerational wealth transfer in history, this poses an existential threat to the arts. This problem is bigger than one institution, one city, one country; this is a global, societal phenomenon. I wanted to help solve this problem.
We are living in the era of impact. Amid a profound reckoning in our world, we are reexamining what we value, whom we trust, and how we collaborate. The next era of philanthropy is being shaped by the individuals and organizations spearheading new models for sustainable impact. There is no time to lose. Let’s keep doing this work together.
